Traditional softeners typically exchange hardness minerals and require salt, regeneration cycles, and a drain connection.

Is the HALO H2 Zero Ultimate a water softener?
No. The Ultimate is a whole-home filtration and conditioning system. HALO’s ION technology is designed to control how hardness minerals form scale rather than removing calcium and magnesium through traditional ion exchange.
Does HALO require salt?
The HALO ION conditioning technology does not require salt or treatment chemicals and does not use the regeneration process associated with traditional salt-based softeners.
Can HALO systems be installed on well water?
Potentially, but HALO requires additional evaluation. A current well-water analysis must be reviewed before selecting treatment equipment for a private-well application.
Does HALO offer reverse osmosis?
