Our Standard Residential Warranty

At S.E. Tradesmen Plumbing & Gas, we believe good plumbing work should last. That is why we provide strong workmanship warranty coverage on the plumbing and gas work we perform.

Our warranty is built around a simple promise: if there is a covered issue caused by our workmanship, we will return and correct it.

We also believe in being clear about what is covered, what is not covered, and when additional charges may apply. Our warranty protects customers from defects in our work while also separating workmanship issues from manufacturer defects, misuse, existing conditions, lack of maintenance, or damage caused by others.

6-Year Workmanship Warranty

S.E. Tradesmen Plumbing & Gas provides a six-year workmanship warranty on residential plumbing and gas installations and repairs performed by our company.

This warranty applies to defects in workmanship related to the work we performed.

Covered residential workmanship may include:

  1. New residential plumbing systems installed by S.E. Tradesmen.
  2. Whole home repipes
  3. Water piping installed or repaired by S.E. Tradesmen.
  4. Gas piping installed or repaired by S.E. Tradesmen.
  5. Drain systems fully installed or fully replaced by S.E. Tradesmen.
  6. Piping connections, joints, fittings, and related installation work performed by S.E. Tradesmen.

If a covered workmanship issue occurs during the warranty period, S.E. Tradesmen will return and correct the covered issue at no charge.

What Our Warranty Covers

Our warranty covers our workmanship.

That means the labor and installation work performed by S.E. Tradesmen Plumbing & Gas. If our installation, connection, joint, fitting, piping, or related workmanship causes a covered issue during the warranty period, we will correct that workmanship issue.

Examples of workmanship-related coverage may include:

  1. Improperly installed piping by S.E. Tradesmen.
  2. A covered leak caused by our connection or joint.
  3. A covered failure caused by installation workmanship.
  4. Work performed outside our standard or scope.
  5. Installation-related issues caused by S.E. Tradesmen.

Every warranty claim must be reviewed by S.E. Tradesmen to confirm the cause of the issue and whether it is covered.

What Our Warranty Does Not Cover

Our warranty does not cover everything that can go wrong with a plumbing, gas, drain, or water heating system.

It does not cover manufacturer defects, product failures, normal wear and tear, misuse, lack of maintenance, owner-provided materials, existing system problems, damage caused by others, or conditions outside our control.

Excluded items may include:

  • Manufacturer defects
  • Failed fixtures, appliances, pumps, valves, heaters, or equipment
  • Defective materials or components
  • Product recalls
  • Internal part failures
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Customer-supplied or owner-provided materials and equipment
  • Improper use, abuse, neglect, or lack of maintenance
  • Damage caused by other contractors or third parties
Freezing, flooding, storms, power surges, lightning, or acts of nature
  • Ground movement, settlement, erosion, or soil conditions
Roots, landscaping damage, excavation damage, or utility work by others
  • Existing pipe deterioration or pre-existing defects
  • Code violations or work performed by others
  • Modifications, repairs, or tampering by anyone other than S.E. Tradesmen

Manufacturer warranties, when applicable, remain the responsibility of the manufacturer. S.E. Tradesmen may assist with warranty coordination when reasonable, but labor, diagnostics, replacement, removal, or reinstallation may be billed separately unless the issue was caused by our workmanship.

Drain System Warranty

Full Drain System Installations and Replacements

Drain systems installed or fully replaced by S.E. Tradesmen are covered under our standard six-year workmanship warranty.

This applies when S.E. Tradesmen installs or replaces the full affected drain system or piping section and the issue is related to our workmanship.

Spot Repairs and Existing Drain Conditions

Spot repairs are not covered for failures caused by existing conditions outside the repaired area.

Existing conditions may include:

  • Old or deteriorated piping
  • Improper slope
  • Bellies or low spots
  • Root intrusion
  • Cracked, broken, crushed, or separated pipe
  • Cast iron deterioration
  • Clay pipe failure
  • Existing blockages
  • Improper prior installation
  • Conditions outside the specific repair performed by S.E. Tradesmen

If S.E. Tradesmen replaces the entire affected drain system, that system is covered under the standard workmanship warranty.

Drain Cleaning Warranty

90-Day Drain Cleaning Warranty

S.E. Tradesmen provides a 90-day drain cleaning warranty only when specific conditions are met.

The 90-day drain cleaning warranty applies only when:

  1. A camera inspection is included on the invoice.
  2. S.E. Tradesmen performs the drain cleaning.
  3. S.E. Tradesmen determines through inspection that there are no existing pipe conditions likely to cause recurring issues.
  4. The drain issue returns within 90 days from the original service date.
  5. The recurring issue is not caused by misuse, foreign objects, grease, or customer-related use of the plumbing system.

If these conditions are met, S.E. Tradesmen will return to address the covered drain cleaning issue at no charge.

If we return for a drain warranty call and determine the issue was caused by misuse of the plumbing system, the return visit will not be covered and charges will apply.

Misuse includes, but is not limited to:

  • Flushing wipes
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Paper towels
  • Grease
  • Food waste
  • Rags
  • Toys or foreign objects
  • Excessive solids

Any item not intended to be flushed or drained through the plumbing system.

Existing Conditions Found During Drain Warranty Review

Sometimes a camera inspection reveals existing pipe conditions that may cause future drain problems.

If S.E. Tradesmen performs drain cleaning with a camera inspection and identifies existing conditions that may cause recurring issues, those conditions should be documented and brought to the customer’s attention.

If a recurring drain issue occurs and we determine that an existing condition was visible during our original inspection but was not brought to the customer’s attention, S.E. Tradesmen will cover the return visit related to that oversight and provide an estimate for the recommended repair.

This does not mean the defective existing piping is covered under warranty. It means we will stand behind the original evaluation and provide a clear repair recommendation.

Commercial Plumbing Warranty

1-Year Commercial Workmanship Warranty

New commercial plumbing installations and commercial plumbing repairs are covered by a one-year workmanship warranty, unless otherwise stated in writing.

This one-year commercial warranty applies when S.E. Tradesmen is not the primary plumbing maintenance company responsible for ongoing service, maintenance, and repairs at the property.

If S.E. Tradesmen is retained as the primary maintenance provider for plumbing service, maintenance, and repairs, warranty terms may be reviewed and extended in writing depending on the system, scope of work, and maintenance agreement.

Commercial warranty coverage is limited to defects in workmanship performed by S.E. Tradesmen.

Commercial warranty coverage does not include damage, failure, or recurring issues caused by:

  • Misuse
  • Lack of maintenance
  • Other contractors
  • Building operations
  • Tenant use
  • Equipment failure
  • Existing system conditions

Owner-Provided Materials and Equipment

When materials, fixtures, equipment, pumps, appliances, valves, water heaters, control panels, or components are provided by the owner, S.E. Tradesmen provides a workmanship-only warranty on the installation labor performed by S.E. Tradesmen.

Owner-provided items are not covered by S.E. Tradesmen’s warranty.

S.E. Tradesmen is not responsible for:

  • Product defects
  • Missing parts
  • Incorrect sizing
  • Incompatibility
  • Manufacturer failures
  • Shipping damage
  • Product recalls
  • Performance issues related to owner-provided materials or equipment

If an owner-provided item must be removed, repaired, replaced, adjusted, or reinstalled for reasons not caused by S.E. Tradesmen’s workmanship, additional charges will apply.
